Me and RD...

kan ke hari tu aku g buat test lasik... dan doctor detect ada small holes on my retina yang rupanya ada shallow RD.

pagi tadi, aku g ke klinik mata hospital besar ipoh (my mom being orang govt, mesti nak ke hospital besar, she never trusts private hospital). the process was pretty quick sbb one of the doctor is my family close fren... so tak de lah aku nak complain on rules n regulations.

sajer je aku nak share the procedure... sbb to know about what is RD, aku dah tulis kat entry sebelum ni... mula2 mata aku depa taruh eye drops untuk 'kembang'kan pupils bg menyenangkan doktor nak teropong mata... the eye drops makes my vision jarak dekat blurry... (nak tgk sms pun kena dari jauh) then doktor tu guna direct ophthalmoscopes utk tgk the central part of retina (see pic). alat ni ok lagi... tak de lah pedih2 mata...

pastu utk check the whole retina, doktor tu guna alat called indirect ophthalmoscopes yg rupanya mcm lampu utk org2 masuk dalam gua... yg ni mmg silau... its like letak lampu direct kat depan mata. then dia ambil pic of my retina. sbb kan silau tu, nak driving balik pun agak sukar, tp kalau pakai sunglasses ok je lah...

RD ni menurut kata doktor need an emergency treatment sbb at anytime blh kena total blindness. and they have diagnosed that aku ada RD kat bawah mata sebelah kanan which requires me to go for surgery. nasib baik it is still at early stage n kat bawah, so masih blh direpair. they discussed abt the matter with my mom and she agreed nak buat kat Hospital Alor Star since kat ipoh tak de facility. masa discuss tu aku sedang diperiksa oleh 6-7 doktor2 trainee yg ambil giliran nak belek2 mata aku. rasa macam bahan ujikaji plak...

kalau buat kat alor star, aku akan undergo surgery next monday, tp aku minta tukar ke Hospital Selayang. nasib baik dapat buat appointment next tuesday, harap2 nothing happen until next tuesday. sbb impact RD ni blh jadi buta, hospital blh buat surgery soonest possible. but if u refer to the causes and symptoms, aku rasa aku tak pernah nampak any of the symptoms tu pun, and aku tak der reason nak kena pun. Alhamdullillah, benda ni dpt detect masa aku buat test lasik tu.

as discussed ngan doktor, i cannot fly until my eye is fully recovered. there's a possibility i'll be in Malaysia for another one month. aku yang sebenarnya plan nak ke BKK-CNX tomorrow, terpaksa burnt je my tiket... rugi!!! tp ye lah... dr buta baik tak pergi kan...

so insyaAllah next Tuesday i'll be at hospital selayang for further check up and subsequently the surgery (if doktor sana confirmkan kena buat surgery). an based on internet, selalunya surgery tu akan selamat, no hal insyaAllah...
