Keje kosong
Colleague aku cari extra staff. Very limited information aku blh bagi kat sini. So sesapa nak try keje kat sini and ada pengalaman dlm finance and especially budgetting, please send your resume to zals.blogspot@gmail.com. Jobscope - aku pun tak sure tp relating to budgetting (keje kat budget department). Gaji - hmm... ok lah kot, aku pun tak tanya. Experience - 7-8 years should be ok. Qualification - Certified would be better and kalau ada media industry lagi baik. Language - know arabic an added advantage, mmg serious, kalau tau arabic mmg blh pergi jauh.

DEL : Hotel & Transport
Ni cerita lama... Last April, aku kena g keje kat Delhi ofis utk 2 minggu... tp sbbkan keje nya byk aku tak sempat ke mana sgt masa hari2 keje... tp weekend dpt gak lah berjalan skit2. yg bestnya, masa apply visa, office tolong applykan for my wife, rezeki dia lah dpt g delhi sama2... :-)
delhi ni besar ya amat. and sbb aku dtg for work, aku dok kat hotel dkt dgn office, i.e. around connaught place. so tak lah dekat dgn all the tourist spots. transportation kat delhi quite impressive, it's a blend between old/traditional and new... and ada kenderaan2 nya mmg mcm citer tamil/bollywood... mmg serious... imagine teksi bawah ni yg kitaorg dpt keluar2 je dr airport. mmg terkejut jugak lah... n comel giler teksi ni...
for those yg nak dtg ke delhi ni, once korang kat airport blh je ambik teksi through teksi counter govern by the police ke government ke, kat situ dah bayar siap2 for service. so korang tak payah risau la kalau kena tipu. tp make sure sediakan duit kecik, sbb org yg tolong angkat beg, even kita tak suruh pun surely akan mintak tips and driver teksi tu pun mengharap tips.
kitaorg sampai kat delhi ni pkl 4am. takde byk kereta, traffic masih clear. jalan menuju ke city center ok, tp jarak nya jauh jugak lebih setengah jam seingat aku. kitaorg asalnya duduk kat Hans Hotel, lebih kurang 200 meter dr ofis aku. dekat je. so aku jalan kaki ke office. since kitaorg sampai awal pagi, sempat lah aku berehat sebelum masuk ofis. 
tp rehat tu kejap je, by pkl 7 - 8 am kitaorg dah terasa bingit dah. sbbnya, org2 kat delhi ni asyik lah nak tekan hon kereta. mmg masa tu aku rasa takde satu saat pun yg tak dgr bunyi hon. bunyi mcm bz giler bandar, but bila jengok ke bawah, tak lah bz mana. tp sbb masing2 tekan hon, mmg bising n bingit. later bila aku dah jalan2, br aku perasan, depa ni masuk simpang bunyi hon, masuk roundabout tekan hon, nampak org tepi jalan tekan hon... apa saja benda depa buat hon dulu. kalau kat traffic light tu wajib lah... hijau je, hon tekan dulu...
selain teksi airport yg kecik kat atas tu, kat tempat2 lain selalunya depa ada teksi kereta sedan yg biasa lah. tp yg tak best nya, teksi2 ni suka menipu... kitaorg kena 'kencing' 2 kali and both instances masa malam. sbb kan aku cuma sempat nak teman wife aku shopping malam je, kitaorg 2 kali lah plan nak g ke sarojini nagar (will talk about market/shop later). tempat ni mcm best kata org. tp 2 kali aku tahan teksi tepi jalan and depan hotel, 2 kali lah teksi2 ni bawak ke kedai cenderamata/gift/kain yg lain n bukan sarojini nagar. satu teksi ni kata ooh... sarojini ni jauh, better g tempat ni sbb ni sama je... satu lagi plak kata, sarojini dah tutup walhal br je pkl 7pm. and both instances mmg depa pakai meter, tp meter tu either pusing laju or depa pusing2 bandar n still kena bayar mahal. for first case, aku suruh je teksi tu berhenti tepi jalan after he refused to send us to the market, tp since yg ni aku dah janji dia pakai meter, aku bayar ikut meter. yg kes satu lagi, dia kata market tu dekat je, dia offer hantar dgn harga murah gila. tp sbb dia hantar ke kedai yg aku tak nak gi, aku keluar je dr teksi bila dah sampai kedai yg dia bawak, n bayar teksi tu. and terus ambik tuk tuk. aku rasa depa ni dpt commission bila hantar tourist2 mcm kitaorg ni. tp mmg tak leh harap. anyway, teksi depa ada yg well decorated, yg bawah ni deco teksi yg tipu kitaorg - first case kena tipu.
but tuk tuk kind of reliable and honest jugak lah. tp susah nya mostly susah berbahasa and sbb kan tuk tuk ni mcm kecik and fragile, nasib lah korang bila dalam tu. mmg agak thrill... depa ni dah lah selalunya x berhenti masuk roundabout n mencilok je sana sini. mmg ada keadaan yg mengerikan jugak lah... tp semua nya selamat lah. n depa ni mmg akan quote price kat kitaorg berbanding local, tp logik lah, tourist mmg kena tipu... and bila convert pun, tak lah rugi mana. janji kitaorg sampai, dr pusing2 tp tak sampai. ooh back to taxi driver, mostly byk yg sgt friendly masa dlm kereta tanya itu ini... n kalau lagi friendly org tu, aku rasa lagi confirm korang kena tipu - ni based on experience aku lah, if you got lucky, ok lah...
another mode of transportation ialah metro. kalau siang2 mmg aku naik metro je, sbb dr hotel ke metro ni tak lah dekat sgt, tp blh lah jalan. tp metro can bring you to most of the tourist spot and big malls. if tak sampai mall pun, banyak je tuk tuk kat depan metro which can bring you to the mall. sbb aku dok agak lama kat sini, and cuaca pun panas, byk kali jugak kitaorg spend time kat mall je. the one yg kitaorg suka pergi was the saket mall sbb kat situ ada HRC hehehe...
hotel Hans yg first aku duduk tu ok lah in terms of location dia. tp kan, service dr bangsa2 ni mmg agak teruk lah... n suka cakap pusing2... tp yg best nya since dok lama, depa bg kitaorg upgrade to a better room - suite lagi with very minimal extra fee. since wifey dok hotel most of the time, kesian dia kalau condition bilik tak best. tp, even dok suite pun, tak lah service jadi better. but the breakfast was quite ok lah.
setelah seminggu dok kat Hans, kitaorg pindah hotel, to a better one but still within our budgetlah. it was way much better than Hans. It's Imperial hotel... memang best. it's in a mansion yg previously digunakan utk taruh embassies. bangunan lama.. mmg sangat colonial feel. mmg best. service best. staff very friendly. breakfast best. ada free yoga classes (wife giler happy for the class). good food. ada boutique kat dlm hotel. everything was so perfect. aku rasa ni among the best hotel kat delhi ni. tp aku dpt special rate yg budak ofis uruskan, tu sbb dok sini, kalau tak, tak sure mampu ke tak. mmg experience kat sini sgt best!!!
tapi for you guys yg travel utk jalan2... cari hotel yg dekat dgn tempat tourist and metro. that's even better... tp imperial tu ok jugak lah, sblh hotel ada few blocks of handicraft shop, tp agak pricey gak lah.

5th year annivesary...
Aku dtg doha ni 2 bulan sebelum company aku keje ni launch... so today is AJE 5th year annivesary... enjoy this video...

thinking
Dah lama plak aku tak update, kononnya nak buat regular update...
dah 5 tahun aku kat doha ni... keje so far so good. life dr bujang sampai lah dah kawin. berangan nak travel pun dah g dah (and travel ni pun tak pernah cukup pun). lately ada jugak aku terfikir bila lah plak nak balik ke malaysia. or should i go n migrate out of doha to somewhere else.
sebenarnya, awal2 dulu ada plan, try cari keje tempat lain plak. europe or elsewhere yg suka ambik immigrants. tp dah kawin, susah lah plak nak cari keje cincai2 sbb dah nak kena jaga anak org. kalau tak, mmg aku migrate je, and keje cincai pun no hal. ada few countries in mind e.g. canada, those stans countries, etc etc... tp ye lah, aku keje finance bukan keje oil and gas, org oil and gas ni lg byk opportunity. tp tu lah, sblm aku dtg sini 5 tahun sudah, aku cakap jugak benda yg sama, (nak sedapkan hati masa tu sbb tak dpt2 keje) tp sampai 5 tahun gak kat sini.
tp peluang utk migrate ke negara lain pun mcm kureng dah sekarang. dgn ekonomi yg makin teruk ni susah kot org nak ambik org luar. when UK unemployment pun cecah rekod tertinggi for many years, same with US and many europeans country, apakan daya org mcm aku nak apply keje. mesti ramai bangsa2 tu pun cari keje. and lagi satu ada ke negara yg aman n tak perlu byr tax macam qatar ni. hehehe... even gaji tak byk mana pun, tp hidup relax tu best. and tak peduli pun pasal apa kerajaan nak buat, sbb dia tak ambik duit aku setiap bulan.
tp... ada masa nya nak jugak balik ke malaysia. my parents tak lah makin muda. and aku pun nak jugak pikir nak settle back n plan to retire... blh je n ramai je retired while in doha. tp aku rasa org tu bukan aku... hmm... macam macam... as said, aku dtg sini tak lah sbb duit tp sbb nak keje dgn budaya lain... nak keje dan progress dgn merit sendiri. alhamdulillah, i've achieved my target... so... what's next...

DC : Around... and round...
Keje kat DC kali ni kejap je... seminggu je. plan asal nak jalan tak jadi sbb injured. Hari selasa sampai khamis tu asyik berulang2 ke shopping mall je... either tyson corner or pentagon city atau ke mazza galerie... mazza galerie tu br je aku jumpa utk trip kali ni. kat winsconsin avenue. ada sorang tu pesan barang2 branded yg aku tak pernah beli selama ni, so kena lah aku g dlm sakit2 kaki ni... but seriously winsconsin avenue tu best, the last day thursday tu, aku dok dr jam 5pm sampai 10 mlm kat situ... jengok2 kedai...
apart from mall aku tak jengok pun tempat lain... even white house pun aku tak ziarah :-) cuma ada lah g ke pennsylvania avenue sesaja since hari isnin tu memorial day, saja je tgk2... no tourist visit done this trip... and since masa suntuk aku sibuk lah pikir pasal keje je... but rasa best plak sbb tak bekejar2 complete the tick list :-)
and one new experience, ahad last day tu aku berpeluang g solat jumaat kat masjid DC. binaan luaran nya dengar cite kena derma dr Saudi or Egypt. Tiles kat dlm masjid dr Turkey dan carpet dr Iran... aku tak ambik gambar kat dlm, rasa segan plak. but looks like typical ottomon style tiles and finishing.

Fly again
arrgh.. beg balik kl pun tak kemas lagi... but tomorrow nak kena fly again...
am going to Washington DC, US... agak kecewa skit sbb tak dpt tukar flight ke NY... kalau dpt pun kena byr mahal :-(

Quick trip to KL...
Masa aku kat London... boss aku cakap, dia suruh aku g kl for a quick trip... 2 hari keje je... hahaha... aku negotiate utk stay for the weekends... dia kata ok..
hooray... dpt balik kl... :-)
rasa lain macam je bila g kl utk business trip...
(cite ni cite bulan sudah la, aku dah kat doha semula... :-) )
anyway, a little update pasal keje aku kat london... i was involved dgn satu interview keje.. yeah am interviewing org (incl. british) utk keje kat London dgn company registered kat UK... like mcm korang nak keje kat negara korang pun, aku yg decide... and my boss give me the chance to pick who will take the job... (eh this note bukan nak kata aku bagus lah, aku kuli still cumanya depa takde bilik, so guna bilik yg sama2 team guna, and i was there... but anyway, at least aku dah dpt rasa apa org2 luar (expat kat malaysia) rasa, bila depa dtg M'sia, interview malaysian utk keje kat M'sia)

-bz mode-
uiks... i was busy from 12/12.... sampai lah semlm.... and lega.. dah hantar dah keje... for the first time ever in doha... aku keje sampai pukul 10 - 11 mlm.. hahaha... and aku rasa penggunaan otak aku dlm tempoh seminggu tu mungkin hampir sama dgn penggunaan otak aku selama aku keje kat doha ni.. hahahaha... kidding...
anyway, banyak cite pasal haji tak tulis lagi kat blog ni... mcm ada takde moodnak tulis.. sebab mcm dah basi... insyaAllah.. kalau rajin aku tulis semua cite haji aku during the weekends....

KBL: Puasa...
Nampak gayanya aku memulakan puasa tahun ni di Kabul... tp aku akan balik ke Doha esok, so tak sempat lah nak berbuka kat sini. (yeay!!! esok dah nak balik!!!)
talking abt puasa... again kat malaysia kenkadang bukan nya fikir bab menahan lapar dan dahaga... tp its all about food and bazaars... eat eat eat... so aku nak share some food that i took here... actually ramai tanya mcm mana mkn kat sini... bg aku ok je... sbb aku ni balun apa saja... hahaha.. local food, i don't really know their speciallity or cuisine, sbb tak berkesempatan nak g mana2 utk try (safety issue). but we had a chance utk rasa local food (perhaps) kat office, sbb lunch is provided kat office (nak keluar pun tak de tempat nak g, and again security issue)...
For local, as per kawan office cakap. they normally eat rice yg mixed ngan raisins then ada satu dish sayur and ada dish daging plus roti arab. tu je lah... very simple... tp mmg rice tiap2 hari mcm kita lah... cuma nasi depa byk2 color n byk2 gaya masak... tak lah nasi putih mcm kita tu...
and since guest house aku ni ada restaurant... and its a lebanese restaurant.. so mlm2 makan lebanese food lah.. sama je macam kat doha... so nothing special...
anyway... SELAMAT MENYAMBUT RAMADHAN!!! Ramadhan Kareeem... semoga Ramadhan kali ini lebih baik dr Ramadhan sebelum2 ni... dan aku minta maaf, atas segala salah dan silap... insyaAllah.... Selamat Berpuasa!!!

KBL: Bagh-e Babur...
Sempena hari terakhir berkempen utk piliharaya presiden afghanistan, kitaorg buat live show hari ni kat Babur Garden (Bagh-e Babur). Disebabkan faktor2 keselamatan, aku tak dibenarkan g awal ke Garden ni, lagipun aku bkn terlibat secara langsung pun utk show... so aku duduk lah kebosanan kat office sorang2... tp around jam 5 ada kereta dtg utk aku dpt menjenguk garden ni... alhamdulillah... dpt jugak aku dtg tengok walaupun sekejap...
apa significant nya babur garden ni... Babur (Zahiruddin Muhammad bin Omar Sheikh) adalah pengasas kepada Dinasti Moghul di India... dia ni keturunan Genghis Khan (dr sebelah mak dia). Taman ini dikatakan dah dibina tahun 1528 atas arahan Babur. Dalam banyak2 taman yg dia bina, dia decided utk dimakamkan di taman ini. Dia meniggal tahun 1530 di Agra, setelah 9 tahun dia meninggal baru lah mayat nya dipindah dan dikebumikan di sini atas permintaan beliau.

Yg putih tu lah masjid kat taman ni...Sejak dr itu, pelbagai pembinaan di tambah di taman ni, dr tembok mengelilingi taman, marble screen, masjid, terusan air etc etc... oleh waris2 beliau termasuk lah Shah Jahan... namun selepas itu, berlaku gempa bumi 1842 yg meruntuhkan tembok dan masjid.. kemudian restored, tambah pool and fountains... pastu rosak balik sebab perang dan now restored dan conserved semula since tahun 2003...
mmg sekejap sgt aku kat sini, aku tak dpt pergi jauh, cuma sekitar pavillion... so aku tak de lah nampak the real garden... the terrace... the fountain... the tomb... etc etc...
belakang babur garden ni ada gunung tempat penempatan... aku teringin gak masuk kat salah satu umah tu... kalau ada rezeki... insyaAllah...
but at least.. i've been here and i view the sunset above kabul city center... stunningly beautiful!!!

KBL: Keje...
Keje aku takde lah directly involve ngan keje2 production. therefore, org pun tertanya2 kenapa lah aku kena hantar ke sini... but basically aku tolong in admin side... and tolong in jaga bajet... senang citer...
office aku kat sini tak lah besar mana... it is in one of drug lords bungalow... tempat dia central jugak, quite near dengan area yg kena bomb tu. tp, kawasan ni mcm byk sgt construction lain, jalan teramat lah buruk... kat depan office, kat kiri ada je villa br buat.. so jalan tak cantik...
as i said, keje aku kat sini more into admin... termasuk lah nak siapkan newsroom... including g shopping kerusi.. dan tempah meja kat kedai perabot... brg2 sini agak mahal and mostly second standard item from china... so no choice.. with limited bajet, aku beli je apa patut... but this has open up opportunity nak g keluar jalan...
eh, of course lah ngan budak office... kalau aku sorang mati lah.. they are not only tak leh cakap english most of them menulis pun tak blh... masa kat kedai kayu ni, semua pekerja ni sorang pun takde yg tahu menulis, depa cuma ada buku resit je, kenalah kita tulis apa kita beli dan berapa harga...

KBL: First Bomb...
Pagi tadi (abt 2 hours ago) lepas aku ambik coffee utk breakfast... duduk2 je kat garden tu sambil sembang ngan news team... tanya2 apa blh buat kat kabul, since it's a bit calm and semlm i spent whole day kat bilik do nothing... blh ke pergi market or any places to buy souvenir?... we've decided to go to one place when we have slack time, perhaps on the last day. and they said, kalau g ngan org office should be fine, tp jangan dok lama lah.. kejap2 je... sekadar tgk2 jap.
tetiba dengar bunyi letupan... terkejut jugak... tp tak de gegaran... 1 letupan yg agak kuat... but early assessment by org2 kat guest house kata it's quite near but perhaps not that big... the news team cepat2 call sana sini and decided the next move, depa dptkan kereta and terus ke tempat kejadian... aku, continue minum kopi and asked for ommelette... apa lagi aku blh buat...
after abt 1 hour plus, i managed to go to office (br ada driver ambik) dan meet up with the news team tadi. it was a car bomb near US embassy and NATO area. kereta tu siap blh lepas 5 police check points. br diletupkan... and estimate abt 20 dead and few more injured...
hmm... is that considered as tiny... i dont know... Alhamdulillah... am ok... anyway, plan nak ke market to kena lah reassess...

KBL : Flight...
Flight dari Dubai ke Kabul jam 6.30am, utk jadi well prepared aku dah check in jam 3.30am. awal sungguh. Kam Air was not that bad... except for bau org kat dlm flight, (morning flight which more than half passenger sure tak mandi punya - not including me). but the food pun tak berapa blh makan, telur dia mcm very plain... anyway, aku rasa that really sbb bau org kot.. hahaha...
the flight was very smooth, aku pun byk tertidor.. its a 3 hours flight lalu atas deserts and gunung ganang je... however the excitement tetiba muncul bila dah nak mendarat
(one of the town i can see from top... apparently Kabul pun lebih kurang je..)sampai satu point the pilot announce nak mendarat, the plane jadi very steep... macam menjunam instead of decsending skit2... dah lah very steep dia mcm berayun kiri dan kanan... very berayun, u can really feel it... and tetiba ada 2 kali dia buat turn kiri dan kanan... and nak sampai ke tanah laju dan menjunam and continue berayun kiri dan kanan... akhirnya Alhamdulillah.. aku dpt land dengan selamat :-)
aku citer la kat budak office pasal my experience, rupanya thats normal. they are trying to kurang kan time utk fly rendah, so kena decsending laju2. ni utk mengelakkan usaha sesapa nak bomb or lancar roket on the plane... hmmm.... logic gak...

Aku dah check in flight utk ke Dubai... transit kejap before my flight to Kabul pagi esok jam 6.30am (dubai time)...
FYI, ada 2 afghan airlines - Kam Air dan Ariana. Aku naik Kam Air.

PEK : Istana Terlarang...
Secara kasarnya bandaraya metropolis beijing ni berpusatkan forbidden palace/city (istana terlarang ikut bahasa aku). maksud aku... orientation bandar ni, dgn forbidden palace ni kat tgh2... dan ring 2, 3, 4 - 6 adalah expressway mengelilingi palace ni... the first 2 ring mmg central lah... and office selalunya between ring 3 - 5.
So setelah aku menjejak great wall, hari ahad tu, aku g pulang the 2nd best thing kat beijing... the forbidden palace ni.. huge magnificent palace... katanya forbidden sbb masa dulu hanya raja2 je boleh masuk... pekerja2 istana dan org2 berkaitan ngan istana je blh... rakyat2 tak blh (perhaps boleh kalau ada occassion kot... tak ingat)you can read the whole history about this palace kat wikipedia... so i shall not elaborate more abt this palace... for me it is a huge palace yg mengagungkan raja... dan kebanggaan utamanya n yg disebut ramai tentang banyak nya gundik nya... :-) tp yg lebih mengagumkan aku, betapa ramai nya pelancong, who were mostly local tourist or at least look so chinese... tak ramai sgt pelancong asing...
tempat ni buka jam 8.30am and tutup around 4.30... aku cadangnya nak test camera je dtg sini... tp since dah sampai, kena gak lah tahu the history. so aku sewa the audio guide (setelah aku tgk citer slumdog millionaire, aku agak suspicious ngan guide2 persendirian yg blh diambil kat depan pintu masuk). for me the guide tu bagus, full of information. tp kenkadang agak laju, sampai kita tak sempat follow, bila ramai org, kita jalan slow skit... so tak dpt catch up. n kenkadang sbb censor detect awal, kita tak naik tangga lagi, dia dah citer pasal dlm hall... tp for a brief citer ok lah... :-)
walaupun ramai... there is still some space that u can find no one... ooh didn't i said i came here just to try out my camera... these are some pics that i took... trying very hard to be creative and full use of the camera (up to the knowledge aku ada lah) very amateurish...
it's a huge complex... kalau rajin tgk each n every room and small palace meant for the concubines... mau ambik masa 4 jam at least... aku yg jump here and there and getting tired... pun abis 4 jam... and tak g semua tempat pun.. but snap loads of pictures lah... nasib baik aku g sorang, kalau dengan member... sure bosan dia...
for this trip, aku cuma g palace ni je, ada 2 lagi tempat/historical building yg interesting, the summer palace and temple of heaven... save for later dates, insyaAllah... for those yg g trip package tour akan dpt g tempat2 lain lagi....

this palace is seriously a must visit definitely!!!
btw.... at the south gate tempat ni terletaknya tiannamen square yg famous tu. aku tak rajin nak bgn pagi tgk depa naikkan bendera... or perhaps ada taichi... hehehe
